Technology

We offer a range of technology expertise. We offer solutions based on Microsoft's .Net platform running on Microsoft SQL Server, and solutions based on the LAMP platform based on MySQL and other backends. Using Rackspace's amazing services, many of our smaller systems are hosted on the Rackspace Cloud environment. This gives us the ability to host Microsoft .Net applications along side LAMP platform applications. Being a cloud environment offers many enhanced capabilities such as clustered web server environments, clustered database environments, enterprise level email systems, domain management and much more.

When more power is required, we use Rackspace's dedicated hosting services to provide you with a dedicated server for your hosting needs. A full array of visualized hosts are available, as well.

We construct multi-tier architecture systems to provide enterprise class stability combined with the flexibility for future enhancements. This also allows us to take full advantage of the Microsoft Entity Framework to provide integrated database persistence on the back end. This enhances your system stability even further!

What Is "Open" Code?

Our approach with the .Net Framework, as well as the LAMP Stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP / Perl) and open source platforms is to maintain as much "open" system code as possible. Wherever possible we construct your system using open standards. This means that Free and Open Source (FOSS) software and custom written code is preferred over closed source systems and components. Having full access to the system's source code saves you time and money on the back end -- and saves us frustration throughout the life of the project. Many developers and managers see the Microsoft .Net Framework as a closed source solution and this is not the case. All of our .Net development efforts are written with the full source code in tact -- and utilize as many FOSS .Net projects and systems as possible in order to reach your goals. On occasion, with the client's permission, we have the privilege of releasing some of our custom systems back into the wild. This improves the overall ecosystem that is .Net FOSS development. At times, we are forced to use a closed source component or system because nothing else exists for the solution at hand. One example of this is Microsoft SQL Server. We typically prefer SQL Server over MySQL or PostgreSQL for large multilayer projects because of its integration and reliability when working with the .Net Framework. It allows us to easilty take advantage of the popular ADO.Net Entity Framework for persistence management. Thankfully, pricing continues to drop from year to year.
